Team Building
Team building courses are frequently used by companies, businesses, schools and indeed any organisation where it is vital that people are able to work well together. Many companies will send their members of staff on team building courses, particularly if it is a group of people who are new to each other, in order for them to become acquainted with each other and learn to work together.
Some typically team building activities include paintballing, orienteering and climbing. Many outdoor activity centres receive a great deal of custom from groups on team building courses and some are able to offer special days dedicated to team building where the group will get a chance to try out several different activities. One very popular team building activity is a raft building challenge. The groups will be presented with some materials, usually ballast barrels, rope and wood and then they are expected to make a raft which they will then attempt to cross a body of water with. This is a very successful type of team building activity as it requires everybody in the group to work together, it is also usually quite amusing and good natured, particularly when a teams raft collapses and they end up in the water.
Team building activities are very useful for assessing the strengths and weaknesses in an existing team too and then can be used to highlight areas that need improvement. Team building courses are excellent for providing feedback about a group’s ability to work together.
